COUR Construction is a licensed commercial general contractor serving South Florida — Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Monroe counties. We specialize in tenant improvements, commercial build-outs, and renovations for healthcare, hospitality, restaurant, retail, and corporate clients.
Our Story
Who We Are
COUR Construction was founded with a straightforward premise: commercial construction should be managed proactively, not reactively. Too many projects stall because the general contractor waits for problems to surface instead of anticipating them.
We built COUR around a different approach — one where the GC is actively managing trade coordination, permit submissions, inspection sequencing, and owner communication from day one. The result is projects that move efficiently from preconstruction through final punch list.
Our team brings hands-on experience across a wide range of commercial project types, with particular depth in healthcare and wellness build-outs, hospitality renovations, and restaurant and retail tenant improvements throughout South Florida.

Our Approach
Preconstruction First
We get involved early — reviewing plans, identifying constructability issues, coordinating long-lead items, and establishing a realistic schedule before a single permit is submitted.
Active Permit Management
Permitting is one of the biggest schedule risks on any South Florida commercial project. We manage submissions, respond to comments, and coordinate with municipal departments to keep approvals moving.
Trade Coordination
We manage the full subcontractor team — scheduling, sequencing, and holding trades accountable so the project moves in the right order and on time.
Transparent Communication
Owners and tenants always know where their project stands. We provide clear, consistent updates and flag issues before they become schedule or budget problems.

About the Founder
Built Around Architecture. Raised in Construction.
William "Mason" Courtney is a Florida native whose connection to architecture and construction began long before COUR Construction.
Raised in a family immersed in the design and building industry, Mason is the son of Tamara Peacock of Peacock Architects, recognized as the second licensed woman architect in South Florida. Growing up around architectural drawings, construction sites, design meetings, and the realities of bringing projects from concept to completion gave him an early understanding of how buildings come together—and how much coordination it takes to execute them well.
A lifelong South Floridian, Mason attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Broward College, and Nova Southeastern University's H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business.
With more than 20 years of construction industry experience, he has built his career around hands-on project management, field coordination, permitting, estimating, subcontractor management, and commercial construction throughout South Florida.
That combination of architectural influence, practical field experience, and business education shapes the way COUR Construction approaches every project: with a strong respect for design, attention to detail, clear communication, and a focus on execution from preconstruction through closeout.
